The French Connection (1971)

So many good stairs to choose from in this film: the French stone stairs, uneven, with a wide tread (and assassin with baguette); the steel riserless stairs which may have a sniper at the top; the seemingly endless stairs leading to a government building, useful for sitting on and watching people through binoculars; the countless stairs leading into and out of subways ... and then the most famous stairs, the ones in the DVD insert and on the (out of print) soundtrack, from a shot which actually doesn't appear in the film.
Hard to believe I didn't like this film much when I first saw it in the early 90s. I think I was probably still in my "if it makes me feel good it's a good film" phase.
