Couldn't really find an ideal (people-less) shot of stairs in this one, though I did want to document the difference in visual style.
Other differences I can think of offhand: Charlie and his grandpa didn't drink the fizzy drink and so Wonka didn't test him at the end; Wonka had some backstory; the film didn't end with the elevator; Charlie isn't shown in school; Charlie has a father; the other children are shown made more-or-less normal; Charlie's grandparents don't emphasize that he'll win a golden ticket because he wants it the most (which is just the kind of thing that seems likely to train a child into Verucahood anyway).
